abrdn Connect - Institutional Investor Client Portal
We developed abrdn Connect to service institutional clients worldwide, allowing them to view near real time valuations, transactions and holdings data.
Clients can get reports, ESG content and investment insights as well as being able to securely share documents with their account managers to improve efficiency and engagement.
The problem
Abrdn's institutional clients needed to keep track of their investments and contact their account manager in a simple way online.
Abrdn also needed to be able to support a multi-currency and multi-country hierarchy, so that their customers across the globe could access information on their holdings and performance.
Additionally, abrdn wanted to solve both problem sets with minimal new software development, so asked us to factor that into our solution.
The process
We worked in partnership with abrdn to understand the key benefits that they wanted to achieve both for clients and internally, driving out key user impacts and measurable value.
Following collaborative workshops to understand the problem space, we established that an implementation of our client portal, backed by our technology framework, would allow us to support both the customer and end user needs.
The solution
We configured existing Focus software to rapidly deliver an abrdn-configured, product-based solution that provides a rich suite of client portal capabilities tailored for institutional investors, using a simple registration and authentication process.
Integration with third parties for the provision of key data (such as fund performance) gives easy access to critical information, as well as relevant market and instrument data.
Appropriately authenticated users can also view information on the accounts of multiple client’s accounts in a range of jurisdictions.
The impact
This solution delivered class-leading benefits both for abrdn customers and for abrdn worldwide.
As well as developing a new revenue stream and lowering the cost to serve, abrdn were able to leverage existing investment in identity management solutions and extend that value into this space, improving their single-sign-on digital identity coverage.
Additionally, third-party integrations provide more accurate valuation data, and better secure messaging and document sharing capabilities transform institutional client engagement.
